Hello, June.

Hello, rooftop picnics. Hello, cocktails on the stoop. Hello, popsicles for breakfast (for the record, yes, that's happened). Hello, lazy afternoons at the park and first blissed-out beach trips of the season. Ahh. There's so much to look forward to about June.

How will you be ringing in the new month? This weekend, I'll be heading to the Brooklyn Flea, and am hoping to do a little (late) spring cleaning. Time to pack away those winter clothes!

See you Monday!

  1. Popsicles for breakfast sounds like an ingenius idea. :)
Hope you have fun at the Brooklyn Flea. Today is the first day of winter in Sydney but you've inspired me to maybe take a trip to the markets too!

  6. I hope I will grow up to be a sassy, jump-roping lady like her! The Brooklyn Flea looks like it would be a treasure trove of amazing finds. Have a great time there! Today is National Doughnut Day, so I'm kicking off the weekend/month with a doughnut :-)

  7. Popsicles for breakfast are the best! And Kathy, is it really National Doughnut Day? How did I not know this? I will be celebrating belatedly tomorrow, for sure!

  8. Shoko, your description sounds lovely and it makes me look forward to June even more, than I already am! We're getting ready for a bike-ride to the Farmer's Market (which is located around the Capitol here in Madison) right now. Popsicles for breakfast? I think I could live with that :) Have a wonderful weekend!

  9. Yes! My favorite is ice cream lunch. Letting yourself be hungry for one thing but nothing else, and leaving it at that. Hooray for summer!

  11. It really was! There's even real historical context to the holiday: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Doughnut_Day

It was also Ronnie Woods's birthday on Friday, so I helped myself to a second doughnut to celebrate. Rolling Stones + doughnuts = a fantastic start to June

  12. Miya, ice cream lunch? What could be better than that? Amazing!

Kathy, I can think of no better combo. Way to celebrate it right! And just so you know, I DID make sure to have a doughnut belatedly. I couldn't let the holiday pass unacknowledged! :)
