Rooftop Reverie.

Who knew that on top of this seemingly inconspicuous apartment building in Williamsburg...

...you'd find this? Props to Brooklyn architecture studio Loadingdock5 for a job so beautifully done. (You can find more photos from the project, here. Not surprisingly, the interior's pretty great, too.)

As it happens, my new apartment (which is just blocks from the building pictured above), has a rooftop that my roommates and I will have access to once we move in in July. Recreating Loadingdock5's lawn-like oasis might not be possible, but what about something like this? A grill, a garden, a trusty Dalmatian - sounds like the recipe for a summer well-spent.

What a cool building! I will have to be on the lookout for it. Rooftop space at your new apartment will be great! I'm sure you will be able to turn it into something awesome for summer gatherings. Enjoy!

This is so cool! Is this on Freeman St? BTW Eagle Street rooftop farm has a very green rooftop, I just stopped by there last week. Good luck with the move Shoko!

When I was working as a designer at a publishing company I did a book called "Luxury Rooftop Gardens." They were all in New York and I've since pinpointed where most of them are... I feel like such an insider when I point them out to people when walking down the street.

Melissa, thank you!

PB, it's on Grand Street! And I'd love to check out Eagle Street now that I'm in Greenpoint for a couple weeks.

Elle, that's amazing! I'd love to see that book!

Bri, yes! Pies galore! Come visit!

Oh my god rooftop gardens are the BEST! They're so super practical, but also just so awesome! I'm so jealous you get a rooftop! Totally make it your hangout space!
