Treetop Turf.

This beautiful "Hemloft" (read: treehouse in a hemlock tree), built by Joel and Heidi Allen in Whistler, makes me want to drop everything and move to the forest. I'd love to work in that bright little nook, pictured below. Come to think of it, maybe a backyard treehouse is just what I need - could there be a more inspiring home office?

  2. We use to live on 5 acres of woods and I always wanted a treehouse! Unfulfilled dream.

  3. Wow .. that is an awesome treehouse~ I would love to visit, but living in there might be hard .. especially when I get claustrophobic and have a minor fear of heights~ hehehe

  5. Taylor, there's still time! :)

Henry and Jenna, I think it would be totally worth it to hang out there - that photo of the "stepping stones" makes me dizzy, though...

  7. Oh my goodness, this is so snazzy. I would looove this, or staying at any kind of treehouse resort/hotel, which I've seen picture for scattered around the internet. And tree camping. Ah, tree camping...

  9. This looks like a dream! I could totally picture this in our backyard (well, we'd need a larger tree). And I'd be in there all.the.time! ;)

  10. I was so excited to see this post! I'm currently traveling in Thailand and I *just* stayed in a treehouse hotel a couple days ago. There's something about sleeping "outdoors" that's so soothing :-) I totally support your backyard treehouse plan!

  11. It's so cute! When I was a child, I always dreamed of living in a tree house. It didn't happen but right now we were building one for our kids and in that way, I was kind of fulfilling my dream. But of course safety first! We are making sure all the materials are safe, including the ladder brackets.

  12. This is just an amazing place to stay during the summer. For me it's a place of zen. It reminds me of the Ewoks in Star Wars. I bet the makes of this had to use some serious roof access ladders to climb up the tree.
