And when you not only want to travel through just one village but through a whole area with little rivers instead of streets come and visit the Spreewald (Spreeforest). It's only 150 km south from Berlin. You can canou there for weeks. It's amazing and so relaxing especially in spring and fall when all the tourists are gone. Don't miss the little traditional pickled cucumbers, strawberries and rivercold beer.
Oh my gosh - what an idyllic looking place! I've never heard of it before, and am so grateful for the introduction :) May I join the group trip, please? I'm adding this to my own list of places to see right now!
That's funny I live in The Netherlands and Giethoorn is just 2 miles away from where I live (I live in Meppel). It's indeed a beautiful place also in the winter when everyone goes ice skating on the lakes and little rivers. <3 your blog btw :)
Ohhhh man another place I need to visit! It reminds me a bit of Bruges (the "Venice of Belgium") but maybe Giethoorn is even more picturesque.. all that lush green!
Loving your latest Equals Record article by the way! I recently saw Ira Glass' video on storytelling and I can relate so much to the quote you posted! xx
