Lostness.

This quote takes my breath away, and the poster - created by Evan Robertson of Obvious State - is a stunner, as well.

As a freelancer in my mid-twenties I often feel a little directionless. I don't know what's next or where I'm headed - but I'm okay with that (most of the time, anyway). I'm happy and hopeful. Directionless but not purposeless.

Another great poster by the same artist:

  1. Love this! I feel this way too. Even though I'm not necessarily a nomad, I feel like one, not really putting down roots anywhere.

  4. I feel like the occasional "existential crisis" is very common for people in their 20s. It's easy to feel lost! But then the moments where we leave that period of lost-ness make life seem incredible.

  7. I love both quotes - exactly what I needed to hear today! I like the distinction you make between being directionless vs. purposeless. Your blog always brightens my day, Shoko!

  9. Mmm, I love me some Jack Kerouac...and my most recent blog post has a lot to do with him and contains a couple of his quotes as well, what a coinkeydink! =] These are great posters, methinks I might have to buy one...

  12. these are perfect. I first read jack kerouac during my freshman year of college. On the very first day of class our prof asked us what we had read over the summer and this girl said she had read On the Road and I just looked at her. I had of course heard of it but never read it (had a bit of an obsession with classics in high school) -- so I read it just because. I should pick it up again. Now whenever I think of JK I remember that random girl who I never saw again after that freshman seminar.
