A Peach and a Party.

I've fallen in love with artist Charlotte Trounce's take on two of my favorite things: Roald Dahl's "James and the Giant Peach,"

and birthday parties. I can't think of anything more magical than one attended by dinosaurs. (This illustration was created for the wonderful children's magazine, Anorak.)

Also, just for fun:

Visit Charlotte's website, here, and Tumblr, here.

You share the cutest things. I love when artists re-do book covers, like the Alice and Wonderland/Wuthering Heights ones that came out a year or two ago.

I love that you love James and the Giant Peach! I put it on my 30 x 30 last year to re-read it as an adult, and it was every bit as awesome and magical. And kind of more awesome because now some of the humor takes on new meaning.

April, thank you! And so do I - they're always so pretty.

Chelsea, I really need to reread it. I'm sure it's even better as an adult!

Kiko, thank YOU!

Very nice illustrations! Am I alone in having been scared after reading James and the Giant Peach as a Kid? I loved the Roald Dahl had a bit of a grim streak while writing kids books!

Quindome - You are most definitely not alone. That's some scary stuff. I always loved it, too, though, despite the creepiness!
