Post-Holiday Daydreaming.

It's hard getting back to work after taking time off, isn't it? Though I'm still on the West Coast, enjoying some unseasonably warm weather with my family - it was close to eighty degrees on Christmas - a long list of to-dos is starting to creep up on me. Are the holidays really over? Say it isn't so!

Below, three happy links suitable for early-in-the-week daydreaming:

1. Somehow, I missed Flavorpill's late October "Guide to Fictional Places You Can Visit In Real Life." I love the idea of paying homage to Holden Caulfield in New York City (check out this map), or visiting England's Ashdown Forest, the inspiration for Winnie-the-Pooh's Hundred Acre Wood. (Apparently, they offer "Pooh Walks"!)

2. An indoor swing? Yes, please.

3. Max's photos of Jesse, Whitney, Gracyn, and August made my heart skip a beat. What a gorgeous family.

Hope these help get you through the day. Have a great one!

  1. Fictional places you can visit in real life?! You've just made my morning. Happy New Year! xx

  2. The Holden Caulfield map is great - they shouuld do the same thing with other amazing novels set in amazing places.

  3. Wow, an indoor swing? I want one of those. I can't imagine many things as cool as having one of those hanging from the ceiling.

  4. cool swing!! (reminds me of)the new issue of atomic ranch has adult size swings attatched to the back of a cabin on lake travis.
    i love swings <3

  5. Mackenzie - So happy to hear that! Happy New Year to you!

Stevie P - Totally agree. I love that map.

Eleanor, Lydia, and Kim - It's official. My future house will not be complete without a swing. It's happening!

  6. O yes please -- an indoor swing. Pop by my blog to see the little new year's present I "awarded" you :)

  7. That place looks perfect for a relaxing holiday bonding time. I like your family picture in the yard.
