Higgledy-Piggledy.

I'm in love with artist Mileece Petre's bedroom, which is inside a refurbished airstream trailer nestled in a vibrant, jungle-like backyard (her mother's) in Los Angeles. In the space surrounding, there's a pond, an outdoor shower, a mess of plants and trees and crawling vines. "It's all higgledy-piggledy," Mileece says. It looks like magic to me.

  1. So good! Makes me think of this Airstream we always pass when we go hiking in Runyon Canyon. It's all tucked back into this field of cactus and I always want to go knock on the door and ask if I can see inside. :)

  2. “Going to junior high in L.A. was a terrifying experience; people seemed to thrive on nothing." I felt that exact same way in San Diego!

I love the piano she has tucked away in that nook. I'm not sure if I would get any work done there; I'd be too busy daydreaming.

  3. This is brilliant. It's the kind of life I want to live - where I have just the essentials (except maybe not an outdoor shower) and live a simple life.
