Akiko's Art.

I've been a fan of illustrator Akiko Kato's blog, Style Imported, for quite some time. So naturally, I was delighted when she offered to draw my portrait. (You can see her rendering of Rachel of That's Chic, here.) Anyway, I couldn't have been happier or more flattered with the final product, which was based on a photo taken by my brother for this editorial shoot a few years ago.

Fans of Akiko's work will be thrilled to know that she's featuring a custom illustration giveaway at Style Imported; click here for more details (the last day to enter is August 17th). Thank you so much again, Akiko!

Have a happy weekend, everyone! Any exciting plans?

  9. Wait, Shoko, this is you?! I had seen this picture on CupofJo (I believe) ages ago and saved it because it's so great and I loved your make-up. :) This was the picture I showed to the woman who did the make-up for my wedding! I LOVE how fresh and natural you look.

Somehow or another I came across your lovely blog about a month ago, but did not realize you were the same person. This makes me happy.

  24. i have to admit...i have had these wedding photos of you bookmarked FOREVER because it was my one and only inspiration for a wedding. sometime after seeing these photos, i became a fan of your brother's photography site and also your blog. then my computer died and i lost the inspiration photos and could not remember where i had seen them. flash forward: this post. i almost cried. first, because i finally found the inspiration photo and second, because i felt like such an idiot that i never realized it was YOU and that the photos were taken by your brother!
long story. much more interesting to me than anyone else but i ended up coming back to this post to tell you.
    :-)
